Case Studies
Selltek has helped lots of businesses across many industries to improve their ecommerce stores and increase conversions. Here are a few examples.
Sprinly (Food Subscriptions)
Sprinly is an online subscription service offering weekly delivery of organic, plant-based meals. They operate as a Shopify store with the Recharge subscriptions extension.
Goal:
Sprinly wanted to enable their subscribers to manage their meal deliveries several weeks in advance. This included options to skip deliveries and adjust the quantities of meals in each shipment.
Challenge:
No subscription extension currently offers this functionality out of the box.
Solution:
By leveraging APIs from both Shopify and Recharge, we developed a custom solution to implement the desired features and create an API-based customer portal.
Technology:
Shopify, Recharge, Custom Middleware, GitHub, Heroku.
Outcome:
Sprinly customers appreciate the new interface. They enjoy having extended control over their deliveries and engaging more deeply with their weekly meal plans.

Jackson Supplements
(Supplements Subscriptions)
(Supplements Subscriptions)
Jackson develops health supplements tailored for men. They offer various subscription plans, each comprising multiple shipments containing the same or different supplements.
Goal:
Managing the correct supplements for different plans and shipment sequences is inherently complex. Much of this process was manual, but as the business grew, it became clear that this approach wouldn’t be sustainable.
Challenge:
Existing subscription extensions do not offer this level of functionality out of the box.
Solution:
Using a clever combination of Recharge features such as workflows and bundles, we built an automated solution that met Jackson’s requirements.
Technology:
Shopify, Recharge (workflows, bundles). No coding was necessary.
Outcome:
Shipment errors are now eliminated. Store administrators gained a powerful tool to easily modify plans and shipment contents. Automation facilitated growth without increasing the workload for fulfillment staff.
PBJ
(Multi-Vendor Marketplace)
(Multi-Vendor Marketplace)
PBJ is a digital art marketplace built on Shopify. Artists can upload their work, sell it, and receive commissions.
Goal:
PBJ aimed to automate key workflows, including artist approval, artwork review, and commission distribution.
Challenge:
Existing commercial multi-vendor marketplace extensions are not designed for the upload and storage of digital assets.
Solution:
After trying two mainstream MVM extensions and facing difficulties with uploading and approving art, PBJ decided to develop a custom solution. We built a system with multiple modules and a dedicated database tailored to PBJ’s specific needs.
Technology:
Shopify, Amazon S3, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, GitHub, Heroku.
Outcome:
Automation now allows PBJ to focus on business growth rather than the mechanics of order management and fulfillment.
CommonThreads
(Clothing Lending & Renting Platform)
(Clothing Lending & Renting Platform)
CommonThreads is a clothing rental platform targeting college students. Students can lend, rent, or buy apparel, creating a sharing community.
Goal:
Create a stylish yet technically advanced platform for lending, buying, and renting clothing. The system should support process management for item approval, rental, lending, and returns. Membership must be paid, and management features should facilitate monitoring and approval of items.
Challenge:
No existing commercial solution closely matches these comprehensive requirements.
Solution:
We built the platform on Shopify, leveraging its catalog, checkout, and other features. Significant customization was necessary to fulfill all specifications, including branded design and complex technical integrations.
Technology:
Shopify, PostgreSQL, Amazon S3, React, Node.js, GitHub, Heroku.
Outcome:
Shopify store was successfully transformed into a fully functioning multi-vendor marketplace for renting and selling apparel.
